play by: Lea Michele
features: Jessica is a pretty girl, but not necessarily model gorgeous. She does clean up extremely well, though. She has chocolate brown, almond-shaped eyes and dark hair. Her skin is usually sun-kissed, but in the winter it's a little paler. She has striking features, with high cheekbones and a distinctive nose, which she inherited from her mother's side of her family. Jessica doesn't like her nose, however, and complains about it from time to time. Still, she doesn't hate the way she looks. While there are things she would like to change, she thinks she looks nice most of the time.
build: Jessica is slender but not bone thin (she likes to eat way too much for that). She has curves, but she isn't especially voluptuous either. All in all, she has a healthy build and a great pair of legs, one of her best assets.
distinctions: Jessica has a birth mark on her inner thigh that's shaped like a heart, but other than that, she doesn't really have distinctions, though she does have a striking face.
style: While Jessica doesn't usually put a lot of time into her looks, she does like clothes a lot. She has a very eclectic style. One day she'll be wearing skinny jeans and a cool top, and the next she'll be wearing knee socks and a plaid skirt. She likes to dress according to her mood, but, all in all, she likes flattering clothes that show off her figure. She doesn't usually spend a lot of time wearing make-up, but she will slap on some eyeliner or lipstick occasionally.

mirror of erised: To be a famous singer, performing in front of a cheering crowd.
veritaserum: Though Jessica is an Auror, which her parents have always regarded a more practical profession, she has always wanted to be a singer.
patronus: Platypus; triggered by the memory of Noel saying, 'I love you' for the first time.
dementor: Her mother telling her that she was an idiot and selfish and that she'd get nowhere in life.
overview: Jessica has a very warm presence and personality. She's very approachable and makes people easily feel at ease, partly because of her rollicking sense of humor. She has the kind of sense of humor that alternates between dry and slapstick, and she's unafraid to laugh at herself. In addition, she's very quirky and doesn't hide it. She has a lot of little idiosyncrasies that are particular to her and only her. For example, every year on her birthday, she plays Jessica Jeopardy, a trivia game all about her little quirks. However, she can sometimes say things without thinking, which sometimes causes her to make a negative impression on people. Also, she often has her head in the clouds, which can make her a bit forgetful.
At home, Jessica's very laidback and loves to read and hang out with her friends and boyfriend. Her great passion is music, as she loves to sing. In fact, she would really rather be a singer than an Auror, but her parents wanted her to go into a more stable, respectable profession. She agreed, not because she particularly craved their approval, but mostly because she was afraid she wasn't cut out for that kind of life. She thought that, since she was smart enough to be an Auror, she might as well do that and earn good, steady money rather than risk it all for a pipe dream.

mother: Barbara Benson
father: Mark Benson
siblings: Jessica has one older brother, Seth, who is a 29-year-old former Ravenclaw who is gay.
extended: Her boyfriend, Noel, is 25 and a huge part of her life.
monetary: rich
overview: Jessica was born on May 20, 1972 to Barbara and Mark Benson, 5 years after her older brother, Seth. From a young age, Seth was her best friend and confidante. Weirdly enough, she had more close guy friends than girl friends until the age of seven or so, when it became the other way around. From then until around her seventh year of Hogwarts, most of her close friends were girls, though she was friendly with some guys. Jessica learned to read when she was three, showing precocious intelligence. She was a bookworm until around her fourth year of Hogwarts, when she found that she preferred hanging out with friends to reading, though she still enjoys a good book.
Jessica's first sign of magic came when she was five, when she accidentally turned her Muggle grandmother's dentures blue. Quickly, Barbara Benson turned her grandmother's dentures the right color before she noticed. Later, Jessica received a speech from her mother about how she was growing up and how she'd go to Hogwarts in a few years and learn to control her magic. Jessica, for one, didn't pay attention to the talk, thinking instead about what a great time she'd have at Hogwarts.
Hogwarts wasn't exactly what Jessica thought it would be like. She wasn't expecting the clique-y nature of the school, which was so divided in terms of houses and all. Jessica had lots of friends from all of the houses, including Slytherin (not all of them were bad, as she discovered), although she had a fair share of people who didn't like her as well. She was an active member of the choir at Hogwarts, which was directed by Filius Flitwick, and sang a lot of solos. It was then that she discovered a burning passion for music. However, her parents didn't take her seriously. They indulged her for a while, but then her dreams caused conflict in her family. Her brother was very supportive, but his support wasn't much help in arguments with her parents, because they weren't very accepting of his homosexuality.
During her seventh year of Hogwarts, Jessica bumped into Noel Foster during a Hogsmeade trip. They started chatting and found that they had a lot in common. To her utter surprise, he asked her out. She'd never been asked out before and had thought she completely lacked allure, so it was a surprise, but he was cute and funny and smart so she instantly said yes. They began a playful relationship with which Jessica was very happy, especially since she'd always kind of wanted a boyfriend (though she'd never really said so).
After Hogwarts, she really wanted to start singing as a career, but she chickened out. She decided to become an Auror as well, along with Noel. Jessica continues to wonder what would have happened if she'd pursued her love for music as a career, but she is content with her job.

secret phrase: fight it out
sample:Kat was generally a laid-back girl who had a rather warm presence and a bubbly personality. She could talk enthusiastically about the many things about which she was passionate, from music to her favorite book. However, she did tend to be a little bit judgmental, and she did have a temper when pushed too far. It took quite a bit to make Kat's temper flare to the extent that she couldn't control it, but when it did, she was a little spitfire. She had punched a guy in the face so hard once that - in his own words - 'his world had spun.' She would be lying if she wasn't a little bit proud of that.
Her temper, however, wasn't roused by the blonde girl's rudeness. Of course, Kat was, by this point, extremely annoyed and a little angry, but not to the extent that she was going to do anything stupid. After all, why should she care about this girl? Kat was obviously the bigger person in the situation, as anyone would readily testify, if they were to witness the situation. The other girl was just being asinine and rude. "Fine, you don't care about being cool. I get that," Kat said. "But that doesn't mean you have the license to be rude to everyone you meet."
Kat wondered what had made this girl such an angry, miserable person. Kat herself got really sad sometimes and could get irritable, but even on her worst day, she was a million times better than this girl, who said that in the future she should stop 'playing the hero.' At this, Kat had to keep herself from rolling her eyes again. What a bitch. "I'll keep that in mind," Kat said frostily. "Maybe next time you should keep in mind that maybe if you were nicer to people, you'd actually have some friends." Kat was quite sure that this girl ranked as one of the most unpleasant people she'd ever met. At least Draco Malfoy, for instance, was kind of cute and smart, and even charming when he wanted to be, even if he was a grade A arsehole who Kat hated. "I'll leave you now, since obviously I'm not wanted."
