Luna Lovegood sat in the library, humming a soft tune to herself and waving her wand about as though composing herself. A book lay open on the table in front of her as she continued on in her thoughts, her hum reverberating through the empty library. She cared not for the noise she was creating – if she even noticed it – and continued on as she read, using her wand to turn the page to her book. Tilting her head to the side she let out a soft sigh and resumed her humming, scanning the pages quickly as though she were looking for something in particular.
In truth, she couldn’t concentrate. Her best friend, one Ginerva Weasley, had been acting quite odd. She had been since the death of Harry Potter, and Luna was preoccupied with the thought of her friends odd behavior that she kept flipping the page far too quickly. There was no way she was taking in the words on the pages and letting out another, more exaggerated sigh she propped her head up on her hand, staring out the window.
Hogwarts was a dismal place now, with so many students gone running for their lives from Voldemort. She didn’t like the new Hogwarts very much. It didn’t feel like home like it once did. She noted the permanently dark air that seemed to hang over the premises since the Dark Lord took over and once more sighed. There must be something wrong with her to elicit such a reaction from the usually care free girl. But she was never truly care free, lost in her own world as others thought. No, she was aware of the dark situation they were in and she was affected by it despite being safe as a pureblood.
She was only lucky her family wasn’t branded blood traitors and sent off somewhere. The Dark Lord even gave the Weasley’s a second chance it seemed, something she was infinitely glad for. She didn’t know what she’d do if she had to lose her only real friend, Ginny. Deciding that her thoughts had taken a turn for the worse, she donned a smile and began her reading, humming and faux composing once more, looking every bit the Loony Lovegood that everyone was used to.

too many dreamers, LOOKING FOR THE ONES THAT LAST |
[/div] Draco had been patrolling the halls all day, and had even been succumbed to watching the suffering of a second year. He had flinched as he watched Crabbe torture the girl. Of course, Crabbe didn't notice. He was way too into it to pay attention to outside company. Once he finally stopped, the girl was shaking. He simply left her, presumably to die. Draco didn't understand that, though. The people at Hogwarts were supposedly picked by Voldmeort himself, ensured that they had magical blood. So, why were they allowed to torture others? He guessed it was because Voldemort only wished to preserve the blood lines, not necessarily making it easy for the people who didn't wish the same. Draco had sighed, helped the girl up and along, then ran away to ensure no one saw what he'd done.
He shuffled along, trolling through the dungeons and heading to the library. At least he'd find it quiet there. The library was a sort of sanction, really. The old librarian still worked there, mostly because she was pureblooded and none of the Death Eaters were smart enough to learn the system. Plus, they wanted nothing to do with books and the like. So, Draco headed in that direction. He came across Pansy Parkinson, who practically threw herself on top of him. Draco hesitantly hugged her and ignored her breath on his neck before letting go to "take care of some business." Once out of the girl's clutches, Mr. Malfoy finally finished his journey to the library.
Upon entering the large room, Draco nodded at the librarian. She seemed to shiver. Draco was noted for being a Death Eater, especially with his father being Minister. People seemed to fear him, for good reason. He'd admit to doing some pretty horrid things in the past. Biting his lower lip, Draco scanned the library. He was looking for someone decent to talk to. When he saw Luna, with her bright blonde hair that matched his own, he felt his lips tug upward. He stiffened. He couldn't let his secret out. So, he couldn't let anything give him away. Draco advanced to her table and sat across from her. Thankfully, there were few others near. "Oh, how typical," he began, then bit his lip. "A Ravenclaw in the library, imagine that," he finished, smirking. Draco met her eyes, though, and found himself lost in them instantly. Damn it.
